Back in the UK I was responsible for curating the History of Advertising Trust Ghostsigns Archive.  This built on a number of years' experience of photographing, researching and blogging and writing about hand painted advertising in the UK and beyond.

When I found out I was coming to Cambodia with VSO, lots of people asked if I would be doing more hunting during my time in South East Asia.  Sure enough I was pleasantly surprised to find the hand painted form alive and well in my new home town of Kratie.  Travels further afield also threw up new discoveries and this site is here to record my findings and encourage others to add theirs.

You can use the links on the right of the homepage to fliter the signs by province, company type and sign type.  You can send your own signs to the site by following the instructions on the contribute page.  I hope that this can grow into a resource to celebrate the art and craft of hand painted signage in Cambodia.
